In 2021, Buie & Co. partnered with the City of Cedar Park to develop a brand identity for the new Cedar Park Public Library. Scheduled to open in 2024, the library is envisioned to become Cedar Park’s premiere public gathering space, the community’s “great front porch” and “civic living room.”
To ensure the brand reflected the vision of the community, Buie & Co. engaged in a discovery process that included meeting with City and library staff and incorporated existing public outreach. After the discovery process, Buie & Co. worked to develop the brand messaging and the brand identity.
The brand messaging included verbal identity guidelines that were designed to provide guidance and inspiration for how to write and talk about the library. These guidelines are conducive to reproduction in collateral, website, social media, and public relations. In the end, our verbal identity created a unified voice for the brand, one that is truly reflective of Cedar Park.
The brand identity is also reflective of Cedar Park and the library itself. The logo is bold yet approachable for everyone. The icon is inspired by books, the library building and the existing City logo. The colors add vibrancy and personality to make the brand stand out. The patterns are playful and complement the brand, extending its visual language.
All elements of the Library’s brand came together and were carefully designed to be equally represented to all.
