RECA is proud to present its inaugural RECA Member of the Year Award to Jed Buie of Buie & Co. Jed and his team of public relations professionals were crucial to RECA’s organizational success in 2019. In his role as Vice Chair of Events & Communications, Jed provided full-service, pro-bono public relations services to RECA. As part of that, Jed and his talented team developed and executed a year-long communications plan, developed organizational and policy-related talking points and organized a successful media tour for RECA’s CEO.
Through his firm Buie & Co., Jed works for a variety of clients with a focus on transportation and public infrastructure, real estate and economic development. Some of his clients include Visit Austin (formerly Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau), Austin Independent School District, Catellus, the City of Dripping Springs and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.
“To have someone of Jed’s expertise in the role of Vice Chair and Communications was a remarkable opportunity for our organization,” said RECA Board Chair Patrick Rose. “From media tours to media training, our organization was caught doing the right thing. Jed’s professionalism, his expertise and his team’s support helped us fundamentally amplify our organization this year.”
